“War Is Not The Answer”

“War Is Not The Answer” – or so the bumper sticker declares. Put aside the disdain I have for bumper sticker mentality – the only one I’ve ever appreciated is “Don’t Always Believe What You Think.”

I couldn’t disagree more vehemently. Ask the Jews and Poles and homosexuals if WWII didn’t answer the question. Ask the Founding Fathers is war didn’t change some things for the better. Ask Moammar Quadafi if that little war across the water in Iraq didn’t change his mind a bit. This Neville Chamberlain, head-in-the-sand mentality often creates a lot more “questions” than it answers – i.e. are your ideals real, is anything worth defending, do evil people respond to words alone?
